To all of the BBS'rs that emailed and supported me while i was deployed. THANK YOU. I am back, on terminal leave and done with the tour. Hope for a good partridge season thsi year and deer season. My Springer will get a work out this fall. she got spoiled while i was gone. Thanks again.

Welcome back, Brian. Not having been in the military I can only imagine how trying it must be to be away from your home and family for an extended period of time. Welcome home, Brian--and well done! On another BB the other day, someone referred to the Guard/Reserve as "weekend warriors". Talk about having one's head up one's . . . well, you know . . . for about 20 years now, since the Gulf War. In a 30 year career, I did a fair amount of active duty, but nearly all voluntary and none in places like Iraq or Afghanistan. (I retired 3 years prior to 9/11.) These days, anyone signing on the dotted line, Active or Guard/Reserve--especially Marine or Army--has to know that he or she is likely in for some long stays in unpleasant places. Here's a salute from an old soldier to all the young men and women currently serving!
