Anyone had this done and opinions. Have a set of parker barrels that are currently cylinder and at .032 at the ends me thinks thin walled chokes are a no no. Thanks

Tut your barrels would have to be reamed out with a step in the barrels for the new choke to but up to .032 is not thick enough. Regards Rich

No reason this wouldn't work. The pressure at the muzzle is low, so bulging from pressure other than an obstruction is unlikely. Denting is the bigger problem.

Mr. Show is correct, if someone did simply solder a sleeve into the thin barrels without first reaming the required step for the sleeve to butt against, your first shot or two would "catch" the end of the new sleeve and rip it out, perhaps peeling the barrels like a banana peel. .032 is very thin, not enough meat there to work with. I have had this sort of work done, it takes a skilled machinist, but the work is available if the metal is thick enough.

Looks like they will remain as is. They been honed a tad so they both have about .005 of choke in the bores. Not bad for woodcock, quail (this gun came from Ga) and early grouse. This is a 16 gauge Parker VH with 26" barrels.

Tut,
Give Briley Mfg. a call, I think they only need about .030" to install thin wall screw in chokes. Won't hurt to ask.
