My Friend is a freak of Nature. He's well over 6 1/2 feet tall, and his knuckles drag the ground when he walks. Seriously, He has the longest darn arms I've a ever seen!!
Needless to say, every gun he has tried to shoot doesnt fit him, so he bought a browning 525, and had Weinigs build him a stock to his dimensions. This took well over a year for him to have wood added here and there,9To the original stock) developed a Palm swell for it , and finally get it so it fit him. Then he sent that Blank to Wenigs for them to make the "real thing"
The piece of wood they used was just amazing.(athough it nearly took a whole tree) Really nice.
He asked me to finish it for him! I agreed.
What I used was Spar Urethane, many thin coats, and then rubbed it out to a great finish! I was pretty pleased.
He doesnt want the stock checkered, but I am going to mebe try and convince him otherwise, IF its possible to have the stock checkered AFTER the finish is applied.
Is this something that can be done, or is it a Huge pain in the petuty for someone???
