Just turned 26... got a couple graded foxes and a couple dozen Savage 99's. You're not alone...were just a minority in our generation... I do seriously wonder though if prices will come down in the next 20-30 years due a decrease in collectors... as stated in the post about auction rules... most "young" individuals are interested in black guns, modern pistols, or semi-auto Benellis if they are "really looking for something nice." Most look at a SxS as antiquated... I personally think the antique/ classic car market probably will have more holding power than the firearms... I also foresee more liberal laws regarding guns in the next 30 years.

sorry for the deviation.... I have no idea about British guns but this does seem to be the place to learn and that is why I peruse the forum....

Any chance the name engraved 0n the gun is, "Davie" rather than Davey? If this should be the case,the Maker/Dealer was located in; Elgin, Morayshire, Scotland.
