Hi,

I recently came across a AH Fox (my first) and wanted to know where I could find more data on this? I went to the AH Fox collectors site and didnt see a specific forum for questions or Fox focused discussions. I was hoping if I provided the SN that someone could tell me the original configuration. The gun appears to be in excellent original configuration with ejectors, single trigger, straight stock and 20ga.

Does anyone know if someone has original records? I was thinking of bringing this to the Vintagers and asking the Fox folks more about it?

Write to John T Callahan at 53 Old Quarry Road, Westfield, MA 01085. Provide the serial number, gauge, and grade and enclose a check for $30 for Sterlingworths and $40 for graded guns. You will receive a letter in 4-8 weeks.

Hey what are single trigger, ejector, strait stocked, X grades in 20 guage going for? Great condition.

....a realistic price please. I have researched on the web auctions and see prices that have kept these arms on the auction for a long while.

Condition is the big factor with this gun. Pictures would definitely help with an opinion, but I'll take a wild guess of at least $5K, if the gun is as you state. What length are the barrels?

Please consider joining the Fox Assn. The $25.00 is a wise investment.

Condition and originality are everything, as Mike said. But the last time I saw two smallbore Ansley H. Fox XE-Grades for sale at the Las Vegas show, by the big dealer from up north, the asking price on each was over $20k and the 20-gauge was missing its buttplate/recoil pad!!!

Just remember in Fox guns as in other collectibles condition is everything. One man's pristine is another man's oh sh!t it's been reconditioned. Your best bet to establish price is to take it to the Vintagers and stroll around with a For Sale sign on it and see what kind of offers you get. By all means stop by the Fox set up at the Vintagers and talk to the guys there, if they start drooling you know you have something good.

Researcher is right. An XE 20 bore in original condition could easily bring $20,000 or more.
