An accumulator is someone who picks up whatever happens to be available over time, usually when it is a good deal. Well, I guess I'm not an accumulator; I always pay top price....Geo

A little of both
At one time I was into military long guns. I was trying to get a representative sample of every US Military weapon from the Civil War up to the present.
But then I discovered AH Fox doubles and English BPE double rifles. (need I say more?)
I am accumulating my Fox collection but use some of them for hunting and some for clays. I accumulate others and use some for hunting and some just to have one of a certain type.
I guess what I do outside of Foxes is whatever is a nice gun in good original condition (can be worn and usual hunting dings and such) at a good price.
will I ever be able to use them all?? HELL NO! will I try to? No.
Ted, As a side note, if I was you I wouldn’t be accumulating ex girlfriends. I would get rid of them. What you are saying is that you didn’t actually get rid of them. That’s scary.

I am sure a couple of them qualify for "RID" of status-some people are only alive because it's against the law to kill them. But, they are just ex girlfriends, not rabid dogs, after all. There is a good chance one, or, three of them feel that way about me, after all.
The collection is, at this time, static. Only certain individuals were in the collection, and membership in the ex girlfriend collection is mandatory, if one was a girlfriend. I don't handle or observe the collection, at least not any more.

I suppose that I have been an accumulator, especially of double guns. I believe that I am changing from that as I have just sent quite a few to absolute auction. The problem is, that there are quite a few catagories that interest me: American Doubles, English Doubles (especially big bores)German Doubles, Dueling Pistols, American Civil War Weapons, Early Sporting Memorabilia, & the list goes on. In the future it is my earnest intent to concentrate on quality verses quantity.

Ted I dont know who said it but if it wasnt for that one thing between their l*gs, there would be a bounty on them. So, not a good idea to collect Ex's.

I'm a shooter of the guns I have accumulated. I tried to specialize in 16 gas., but then a 12 0r 20 wouold come along so I just pick up what I can afford and catches my fancy. Don't sell any guns any more, blessed with a daughter and son and four teen age grandsons that all hunt and shoot. If I tire of something or it doesn't fit I just pass it on. This what keeps me out of 3K and up SxSs, but I find some for less that I like.
