There's currently a 32 Trap on the for sale board at our gun club that is advertised as almost 100% and is the original finish. I could make some phone calls and get the gents number if someone is interested. Brdslayr@clearwire.net

Actually, the Winchester Model 21 was introduced in answer to the Remington Model 32.
That would be a pretty hard premiss to prove. Both guns were under development at the same time, and within the Patents and factory drawings there are both side-by-side and over/under versions of both. Throw in Winchester going belly up and being acquired by Western Cartridge Co. and the Olins; the Depression; and Remington pocket catalogues of the period that introduce the Model 32 being undated; and it getss pretty muddy. Is there any documantation that says Winchester and Remington came to an gentelmen's agreement that one would bring out a side-by-side and the other an over/under?

The Winchester 21 was being advertised in the sporting press in the fall of 1930. When was the Model 32 put on the market?

Both the Remington Model 32 and the Browning Superposed were reviewed in The American Rifleman during 1932

One with ventilated rib and Hawkins pad in condition you describe would be a 'Koh-I-Noor'. Only 5,5053 Model 32s were sold. A genuine wonder of depression era. When "Fritzies" from Heidenheim near Ulm/Donau was looking to make something good they chose to copy legendary Remington 32. It was such an excellent design that even Fritzie could come up with nothing better. Remember this was at a time when skilled craftsmen and investment was scarce so the product had to be beyond reproach to bring success.

1932 to 1942.
"Only 5,5053 Model 32s were sold."
That is most surely a mistype!

5,053. The first batch left factory in March or April of 1932.

That said, I doubt that the Model 21 was introduced in answer to the Model 32 if the Model 32 was introduced 1 1/2 years after the Model 21 introduction. I seem to remember seeing Model 21 blueprints dated in the early twenties.
