Hi all, I have no interest in this gun at all, but it did catch my eye.

http://www.auctionarms.com/search/displayitem.cfm?itemnum=9294725

I was wondering what you Parker fans think of this restored gun? Looks like the smith did a nice job IMO. The price seem very fair.

Your thoughts?

All the best!

Greg

Well I dont think they had a Clue . I could do no better but I could at least put the screws back right. The checkering is about the best, Just my Opinion.

and the smith did a great job of completely polishing off the serial number on the trigger guard.

Checkering pattern on wrist is incorrect.

Well, I think he did a rather nice job, given that the gun was probably in horrible condition when he got it. Yes, being a Parker collector I can fault several things but I'm going to give him credit for a rather nice job. If the bores are O.K. and it's on face the price as a shooter isn't bad.

The work is not that bad, but if you had 31 years you would think they would get the screws right, it took as much work to make them paralell as perpendicular?

At 6-1/2 lbs I think that's a dang light 12...or he weighed it by holding on a bathroom scale then weighing himself without it.

It would make a fair enough shooter but with 31 years experience the gun should be better. It has too many goo-goos to be a professional job.

The barrels are nice - The colors are nice - The checkering is very nicely executed - but the other 'problems' previously mentioned are detractors to what could have been a near perfect restoration.
