Northup87, those are rather nice looking hammers. Now, what's the distance from the center of the square tumbler to the firing pin and also from the tumbler to the face of the reproduction hammer. You might be able to adjust them a little but not a lot. Here's a photo of a hammer on my W&P but it has no bearing on what is proper for your lock.

Joe, they are 1.75 inches on the throw... Im a little worried my throw is 1.55 but I think I will be able to make up that amount on the hammer... Have you ever seen a pistol grip trap style stock on any of the powells... I have yet to see one anywhere save the one I have and was wondering if they offered a trap model gun? Its really a shame that most all the records are lost on such a fine company.....

Salopian, thanks I will get back to you one that one.
Williams & Powell would have supplied what ever the customer wanted so there could be some trap guns out there. Being based in the busy port of Liverpool I would suspect that their guns travelled widely and examples will be scattered across the globe. Lagopus.....

Northup87, is it a full pistol grip or a half grip? Either could have been done but the half grip, or Prince of Wales, was pretty common early on. I have a Scott with a POW made in 1870, and I know of a nummber of earlier percussion guns with them.

Joe it is a Full pistol grip flowing into a square horn cap at the base of the grip. I will get up a few images of the gun in the coming days...
