If the internal barrel volume of the 10 ga. is 20% greater than the 12 gauge, will the pressure therefore be 20% less? No, the issue is wad base area. If you get similar velocities, then the 10 bore pressure would be the 12 bore pressure divided by the 10 bore wad base ared over the 12 bore wad base area.

Can this be calculated? Or does it need to be accurately measured via machine? Calculate as above, for a general idea of pressure. There are relatively simple and inexpensive glue-on strain gage pressure transducers available, along with soft-ware for a lap top.
