WOW, I guess a few do enjoy SSM, and much thanks to you fellows who appreciate my writing. I'm a friend and fan to and of Doug Tate and Vic Venters, likewise bemoan the passing of Technicana and think that anyone shooting a drilling must be A-OK despite letters to the editor to the contrary. The four word mention of my M-12, 16 brought a flourish of reader enthusiasm and I will be shooting with the informal gun lovers of Montana at the Gallatin ranch this afternoon. Daryl is bringing Terry's ex-hammer-bar-in-wood- patent Smith gun for me to see and shoot and I am excited to also photograph it in natural sunlight. Daryl told me much of his adventure to Belgium, as much as his soft-spoken demeanor allowed, with words of affection for his Belgian compadre', Marc. My first "really good" double gun was a Belgian beauty with arcaded fences, wonderful balance and taught me much of Fine Gunmaking which I have done my best to relate ever since.
Thanks All,
Steve (but that's Daryl below!)
