Ah, the coveted Bohemian Kronen Drilling by Gustav Fukert(Johann Fukert-1830), k.u.k., Hoflieferant, Weipert probably by Ferdinand Fukert, the craftsman at the time at Bahnhofstrasse 578, Weipert. Was there any adjustment in the transition to the G. Fukert such as overcoming a distraction by the exposed hammers?

Also Ronald Mahan's "In Defense of Drillings" on page 10 maybe should have waited until this issue to reply. I'm not sure he has his facts straight on his "Buhag Suhl - Handwersarbein" Ferlach Drilling. I guess a BUHAG could have peddled in Ferlach but there are just too many talented craftsmen there to import a BUHAG, unless it was a matter of economics.

Kind Regards,

Raimey
