Do yourself a favor a get one of those small Waxmaster applicator/remover. I use mine on my poly finish guns and my cars (along with the appropriate grade of Meguires as required.) If you want shiny then those things will do the trick!
At the risk of being flamed out...it works great on oil finishes too!
