I'm kind of questioning this whole deal. Right now you have 17 guns worth around $15,000 that you're trading for a car of similiar value. What will the guns be worth in 5 years? Now how about the car? however;If this is a financial issue I can understand.

I think if its a bordering state you dont need a FFL involved in a FtF private transfer....any nonbordering states you need the stinkin FFL involved...

A non-licensee can not transfer any guns to another no licensee in another state. Period!

I thought you had the car. My error in comprehension. Your only duty is to drive the guns to Indiana and drop them off with the FFL. The other guy can negotiate the price for 17 transfers. No fuss, no muss.

They can put four or five guns on one form when it is called in to the state.
On the bordering state issue, I can buy a long gun at a dealer or FFL transfer and leave with it just as soon as the state clears the call in, which is usually about 10 minutes. Whereas, buying in my state of the peoples republic of Ill. from a dealer, I have to wait 24 hrs. I can make a face to face with someone, and immediately have the gun. Go figure.???

Jim It's a collectible Porsche. I have yet to lose money on one. Rather than come up with cash it was better to just trade, no cash involved. There are more guns and finding them is just part of the fun for me.

I wish I'd thought of the gun trade idea when my wife took a minor bath on her late uncle's red 1955 Speedster a few years ago. It had never spent a night outdoors and the original engine was stored on a stand in his rec room.

How could you take a bath on one of the most sought after 356's in the world? I know the classic car bubble is slowly leaking but still that is one of the holy grails of collectible Porsches.
