Very simple answer - an AyA No 3 or No 4- their Boxlock ejector or non ejector.

Very solid and well made guns, will last several lifetimes and shoot very well. Nice and light even in a twelve and if you stick with 1oz of 1 1/16 oz cartridges recoil is still minimal.

If you want more Pistol Grip / Beavertail then look for the AyA Matador.

As a 2nd hand buy they should be very good. In the UK you are paying £800 for a still tight limited used one, £200 to £400 for a well used but in good condition. Add though another £200 to that figure for a 20 bore.

I had the SKB Model 200E for a while, 30" barrels, a bit heavy but nicely balanced, only problem was the pesky single trigger and trying to find that little barrel selector button on the trigger guard...

Yes you could do worse than that Uggie m30 from Crosnoe. John Jankowsky just sold one on the for sale area. I believe he was asking 700. I have seen a couple with NO wear for 425-450. I sold a m221 (engraved 30) last year. If you're interested in a low use 12 ga. Fausti Elite Field (this one has two triggers) let me know, I'll make it fit in your budget.

Well, Mr Cash, I suppose you could ask Mr. Isaacson to buy your gun for $1150, and see what he says. I'm going to guess it hasn't sold here for your asking price, and it was advertised for a while prior to this discussion.

Fair deals sell here pretty quickly-I've noticed that over the years (2557 doesn't happen overnight, you know) I've been here. So, while you don't have to agree with me, it would appear that the market has been just a bit of a cold taskmaster for you, which, an article in the DGJ (I noticed there was just a bit of discontent with the trigger on the BSS in that article, something I had noticed more than once over the years it took to get to 2557 posts, as well) and Mr. Isaacson's opinion don't seem to be able to sway.

My own gunsmith (in addition to 2557 internet posts here, I am involved in the business of importing guns to the US) who handled my warranty work on the " fine" guns I imported for over a decade from France (not a roll pin, stamped component, hot blued barrel, or drop of polyureathane in the bunch) is London trained and transplanted here by way of marrying his Yank girlfriend. I respect his opinion, and while he didn't really say anything bad (not his style) he did remark of the BSS, "Well, they aren't a Brummie boxlock now, are they".

Which, really, about sums it up for me. Well, that, and the often spurious "dollar for dollar" quote at the end of your argument, which, is just as often used by people to justify cheaping out on something. I guess I would go the even cheaper route of a 16 gauge Nitro, Western or 311, pocket the extra $600 or so, and be rewarded with a sweet handling (was a bit of discontent noted in that DGJ BSS article on that point, too) cheap gun.

Hey, good luck on the sale. Seems you may need it.

The Marketplace is a [censored] sometimes, you know.

Best,
Ted

Good afternoon Ted,
I guess If I knew everything, I'd be smug like you too. Please forward me a fax number and I'll send you a copy of the PPT regarding the sale of my "Frankengun". It didn't sell on this board but I took $1,100 for it today. Can you say carma? The slight discomfort you feel is the cosmos poking you with a sharp stick. You can use my fax to wipe the grin off your face.

Bob

Buddy, I don't feel uncomfortable. But, the guy who ponied up for it might. Shortly, I'll bet, after he tries to peddle it.

Watch out-"Karma" is a two way street.

$500 bucks to spend...buy an American built pump and a couple of cases of shells, no worries, no problems and a whole lot better gun for the money you're going to spend!
And your great great great grandkids will be shooting it!!
