Thought on putting Teague liners in an older Purdey that has walls that are too thin. I do not own the gun at present. Thanks in advance.

Worth it on a Purdey provided you take the cost into consideration before purchase. At least it puts the old girl back into a good useful gun. Probably not worth it on a lot of the lesser makes unless it has sentimental value. Just a matter of balancing up the cost of the gun plus the cost of the work and any guarentee that it will pass re-proof againt the value of the finished product. Lagopus.....

I looked at doing this with a Purdey that needed a fair amount of work. The work included restocking, metal finish and browning/ case redo. That raised the bill to about the grand total. Problem is that the gun would have been worth not much more than that when I got done. In effect I was making a top name brand shooter or at best a best shooter. Ended not doing the gun because the numbers would never work out and I did not need another shooter even if the gun would have been a Purdey. Given the right action or right gun I would not let money or total cost stop me. This gun was a tired gun with 100 years of heavy use and I could not see where the world needed one more redone gun.
