Thanks, Dennis! I already mickey-moused a Brownell's tip-off blank onto my lowall parts gun .25-20, which had been tapped for two screws on the shank of the round barrel. So I just drilled the blank for matching holes and screwed it on, then fitted tip-off rings. Probably wouldn't work with a big kicker, but the .25-20 ain't. That one has a steel K-3 on it.

I'll check the catalogs for a blank with a flat bottom to match the octagon barrel on the C.Sharps, then have someone who actually knows what they're doing tap the barrel if I find one. Might have to shim the front end to accomodate the taper, tho--not sure I'm a precise enough filer to make it fit perfect.
