Question on Browning Lightning

I have an old style Browning Lightning that requires the removal of a screw to take off the forend. I now have an opportunity to pick up a second set of barrels, also from a gun with the old style forend. My problem is that I will not have a chance to try the second set of barrels before purchase. Can somebody give me an idea if the second set of barrels with my forend will work on my gun with little or no gunsmithing? Thanks in advance.

You are rolling the dice! A super was hand fit. If it locks up and the forend is not right it is reasonable to fit it. If the barrels don't lock up or it won't close it could be a lot of work.
