I own and shoot a 2" gun with no concern about gun failure. It only gets the finest custom reloaded Federal Paper shells with the proper amount of good stuff in them. SImple Mec setup that cost less than $50.00 to set up. Like most things it is reload or do not shoot very much. Safe factory shells are hard to come by for many of my neater guns.
It is a fine 20-25 yard game gun. Limited by charge weight, birds to shoot and my shooitng ability, it gets too little use. 2" guns are just a fun niche gauge that is rather limited in their use but which are a real pleasure to hold, carry and shoot. And I do far more holding and carring than shooting.
Resale is always a concern for some and none for others. I fall into the later group. My guns will be resold after my death so what they bring in price will not be of any interst to me.
