I have hunted wild boar in Poland with my own gun. I had to get a permit from the Polish Consulate in NYC for both the gun and my ammunition. When I arrived at the airport in Warsaw I was whisked through the diplomatic line by attractive mini skirted customs officers. The most beautiful of the young ladies set my gun case on a table and, while looking searchingly right into my eyes, she intoned in deeply accented English, "You will now show me your tool."
I had a great adventure hunting... etc... in Poland. Having spent much time in Russia on non-hunting excursions, I would expect similar treatment.
