Thanks Bill. That 21 Trap sounds nice and would work nice for me. Does it have the vent rib? Also, straight or pistol grip?

Beautiful M21, but aren't they all!!!

My 32" vent rib Trap Grade was made in 1938 for Winchester pro Cap Grier after he set a world record doubles score and world record squad score with his other Model 21. Grier's contribution to the record 993X1000 squad score was 200X200. I assume my gun was a reward from Winchester for setting the records or possibly a backup gun that Mr. Olin preferred that he have. I know where the other gun is but it is not for sale. My file on Captain (later Brigadier General) Grier goes from the early teens when he started his competitive shooting career until his induction into the Delaware Sports Hall of Fame in 1979. He is also in the Delaware Trapshooting Hall of Fame. It is a wonderful shooting gun, bored full and full and provenanced to Captain Grier by a Cody letter. If I remember correctly, Cap Grier was nominated to the Delaware Halls of Fame by his and our friend Bill Wise.

Here's the double that started my obsession with the sxs. 30in MOD/Full that I got from a friend that invited me to hunt pheasants in NE. He wanted to fund a woodshop and I got first option on the gun. The first and still my favorite. JW

My first 21 was one of a pair that my Dad and I ferretted out of a classified ad in the Washington Post in 1965 when I was just a lowly University freshman. Dad put his 20 gauge away and I shot my 12 gauge until it had no finish between the pistol grip and the forend. I still have Dad's skeet gun but mine is long gone on a 1973 trade for a Parker SC with case and tags which I still have.

The trigger seems to be more forward then most 21's that I have seen. I like that. I wonder if CSMC could do that for mine?

Kevin tell CSMC you want a trigger like this one pictured and see if they will accomodate you. JW

Kevin, I had never noticed the trigger position difference ever. I pulled out a newer 21 to compare and its an illusion. Trigger is in the same position, but the trigger guard is litter bigger on the back side. Today I leared something new. JW
