I gotta tell you Ron--as a life time lefty--I tried that route and had guns with a left opening toplever. After many years of shooting conventional guns, the right opening lever is actually more comfortable for me to use. I'd set up the boy's gun with the correct dimensions--cast on if needed etc., but would not worry about the toplever. You will pay dearly for this option and I think the money is better spent elsewhere. If you must have it--then the Spanish makers will make one up for you in a SxS. Good luck!
I am also a lifetime lefty shooter. Bill is right on. Not only is a top lever no problem but I think right handed double triggers are better for lefties (assuming the triggers are not bent lengthwise). Make sure the stock fits. Leave the rest alone. RCC
