I am owner of a nicely finished gun with this name stamped on it. I wonder if anyone here might know anything about the name - whether maker or retailer, etc.
Thanks in advance for any help

Peter Small, 28 Pilgrim Street Newcastle-upon-Tyne Northumberland
Small & Johnson appear to have been employees of Richard Burnand. They bought the business of Richard Burnand in 1885/6 and re-named it after themselves. The address of the business changed from 29 Pilgrim Street to 28 Pilgrim Street. In about 1894 Johnson left the partnership and Peter Small continued on his own.
The business appears to have closed in about 1913.

The subtext is that Burnand retained the 29 Pilgrim address and retired there with some other family members....
If you have pictures of the gun, many here would love to see it.
