Small & Johnson appear to have been employees of Richard Burnand. They bought the business of Richard Burnand in 1885/6 and re-named it after themselves. The address of the business changed from 29 Pilgrim Street to 28 Pilgrim Street.
In about 1894 Johnson left the partnership and Peter Small continued on his own.

The business appears to have closed in about 1913.
