I answered the question about HAL's son in the Winter 2005 issue of the DGJ.
His only child was his son, Ernst.
It seems that he was killed at the beginning of WW1.
He was also a gun maker, trained by his father.

His death was the reason that HAL retired and closed his business.

Ernst was survived my his wife and parents. The wife lived with the Lindners until their deaths and the property was sold, at her death, as there were no more heirs/
