unlike bunch of lil' roses and squiggles i bet those oak leaves took real loooong time to enrgrave.

When it comes to birds, I think W&C Scott had a little edge on the competition.They don't look like bowling pins with wings.These are on my Monte Carlo "B" pigeon gun circa 1910

Very nice shading on the birds, a very special gun.

A few sqiggles on this old 10 bore presumably by Scott for another. Leaves or scrolls these artists did their work well and quickly.

Terry those pigeons look like bank not engraving!

Very nice example PM. Looks like a pigeon gun. More pics.... Always amazed at the variety and quality produced in those days and usually done with hand tools made by the engraver. Artists in every sense.

If there are to be birds, I like the stylized flying turnips on Parker Bros. After all, art is art and not a field guide.

W.C. Scott was a Visionary....

Scott envisioned people just like you in the future setting in front of a computer all hunting season just fondling their gun and never leaving the comfort of their house...looking at all the birds and dreaming.

Before I go to the range today I might have to get mine out and dream a little since hunting season is closed.

Lowell you really should consider selling your priZed Beezley and buying one.
