I have read this discussion with interest hoping I would get an answer to a question I have had. My old LC Smith has a drain hole in the bottom rib under the forearm. I read in the article that helps answer the question about the safety of shooting old doubles that the author would not shoot an old gun with an drain hole in the rib, because of the possibility of hidden corrosion. I thought it would be good to fill the space with oil and let it drain out. I was surprised that oil seeped out from several spots along the rib. The barrels ring fine. Do I have a problem? Thanks, Dan
