A very good friend just had his home burglerized. They stole the usual stuff, and his very low mile, never driven in winter, 2002 3/4 ton Dodge Cummins. They found his guns and ammunition and took the ammunition, leaving a King's Ferry Ithaca 12 and a Colt Woodsman.
The cops guessed somewhat smarter than average convicted felons, unwilling to do the automatic time for being in possession of a firearm during the commision of a felony, if they had been caught (they haven't been).
So, you never can tell.
