I have been exposed to this "upgrade?" since I was a youngster. The original owner was a local Parker nut who destroyed many a fine gun as was common in the sixties and even later. This gun, in my opinion, is the rare and unusual "fake of an upgrade". Close examination of this gun makes me suspect that LDG Sr. and Robert Runge never touched this gun, regardless of any claimed markings. OK, I looked at the picture of the Runge markings and they look original. However, the water table markings on this gun seem to have been applied with a hatchet, an odd touch, considering that Mr. Del Grego had factory stamps to apply any markings he wished to apply. The person who once owned this gun contracted with many less than skilled mechanics to create his modified Parkers. The hard rubber buttplate and foul markings on the water table are surely odd features on a genuine Del Grego-Runge upgrade.
