While I personally have no collecting interest in military 1903 Springfields and collect high quality Pre War (WWII) Sporters only, I do treasure the history they represent. There is an abundance of Springfields already altered to the point of zero military collectibility value so why not use one of those and besides the cost will be much more reasonable, especially when you are just going to tear it apart,to build one of those beautiful pre war style sporters, I love so much.
