I send a email to Verney Carron and that´s what they told me:

"Dear Sir,

This rifle was invented and patented by Messrs. JAY father and son. They made a few copies, including your own, before joining our company, after some improvements, has started mass production under the brand “SAGITTAIRE”.

Still don´t know the year of the gun butt i will try to figure out with this information.

Guess I had the order of production wrong, but, I got the gun right!

It is hard to mistake that profile for anything else. I'll try to remember the LeJay came first, followed by the Sagittaire.
