That's a Verney Carron Sagittaire, either a model 747 with ejectors, or a model 728, with extractors. The profile is hard to mistake. I have no idea who who LeJay was, but, could have been a retailer who contracted for the production from Verney Carron.
A Sagittaire is a very good, but, not best, O/U gun, with a very low profile. The firing pins are arranged in a straight line configuration, and driven by coil springs. The lockup of the action is similar to a Beretta, with steel pins in the breech face meeting recesses in either side of the breech end of the barrels. I'm pretty sure they were only made in 12 gauge.
The straight stock and double triggers make for a wonderful hunting combination on an O/U, in my opinion. Very nice gun.
Best,
Ted
