SKB I was not trying to cut you out of the loop. You are making it available to us and should make money for your time. I just get tired of the cost of shipping guns over from there being so expensive. When you can go get it cheaper than have it sent over here by air freight then the numbers are out of wack.
I send a three to four pound package to Italy almost every week and the shipping runs $68-88.00 per package. So I do understand how much overseas shipping can cost. I suspect a gun which would weigh 10-15 pounds when packed would almost have to cost $300.00 at a minimum to ship. Then insurance on top of that has to be added.
I wonder if a gunsmith or agent for a gunsmith could not take multiple guns over there for less than that much per gun? Do the same thing several times and you could get all the problems figured out and the flow of guns back and forth could be fairly easy. Three or four trips a year would mean only a three month wait for the service and the mule could get a few days vacation looking a chance to cruise a whole new set of gun shops or take in a auction of two. If I was semi retired I love that type of trip.
