I like "blaming guns for causing crime is the same as Rosie O' Donnell blaming being fat on her fork" !!

I have one congress man on the list and one not,both got emails today.
Good thread and we need to keep up the pressure on gunowners to get their head out of the sand and stand up for ALL the gun owners rights.

I went in and pulled the crime statistics for the latest year(2007) for 6 States
These three have very liberal gun laws and also low population densities. The murder numbers I'm posting aren't necessarily firearms homicides as they don't break this out. These States also have very liberal carry as well as ownership laws and firearms are readily available:

Vermont___________621,000_______________12
North Dakota_______639,000_______________12
Montana __________957,000_______________14

The next three States are quite a different picture. The also have very restrictive firearms ownership laws so firearms are not readily available:

New York___________19,000,000__________801


You can all draw your own conclusions here but the availability of firearms to law abiding citizens isn't the issue here it's certainly other factors.

I note all 65 Congressmen who signed the letter are demos. Did the Republicans also send such a letter? I hope so or I am switching parties! I sent my rep. a thank you letter.
