To elucidate further:
Far as I know, C.Sharps rifles are as good as any and better than most, they have a great rep.
The C.Sharps owner OTOH has committed major ethical blunders in the past and has zero customer approval in many quarters, while the Shiloh folks are perceived as simply the best.
Yes, the Shiloh product has issues, IMO all sidehammer Sharps have several built-in design flaws that are then all too frequently exacerbated by inadequate manufacturing and QC. Firing pins and lever springs are the main culprits; the Sharps firing pin is major Rube Goldberg and can't be improved very much, but none of the sidehammer Sharps makers seem to be able to properly heat-treat their lever springs! As a side note, I was disturbed to find that apparently none of the makers of Winchester wall clones have been able to properly shape and heat-treat their firing pins, I've had to repair many for various BPCRS competitors!
IMO a stop at Cody beats a stop at Big Timber by a country mile, JMO.
