400 nitro
granted i agree with you that it is an apples and oranges comparison. the last comment you made in reply to binko's post.
exactly how overpriced in your opinion is his?
like I posted, good original condition ones are going for 10k price range. sleeved / refinished ones are 6-7 k.
Bink's might have been priced way higher compared to other like examples which means he would hold on to it longer until the right person came along. I would buy this era holland before I would buy any of the examples OWD posted to start this thread, which are WAY over priced. a fool and his money will soon be parted on that sidelever boss!!!!
I for one think they are beautiful guns. looks like me and binko maybe be alone in that thought.

Of course, I strongly disagree with ya'll's conclusion, but opinions are like a politician's constituency and their vote, ALWAYS SLANTED in their favor!

Look at Lot #1446 and #1468 from yesterday's Holt's auction. Now tell me which of the other, more modern Royals are nearest in condition to the two dip edge lock Royals. Lets see if we can put an Original Quality grade to these older guns.

PS - Ho-jOe - Yes, I am still "STARRY-EYED" with the H&H name...but I'll never pay $15,000.00 more for one than it's worth, just to say I own an H&H.
Binko next time when you get "STARRY-EYED" ask these guys what they think about the gun before you get "Star struck". How much did you say you paid to get "STARRY-EYED" ? Ps...I hope it wasn't over 6 or 7 grand

Binko, I agree that Steve Barnett has some darn high prices, that said, I bought one of my favorite guns from Steve.
400nitro, I did not notice that anyone was comparing those Hollands to each other, just the fact that they were both priced very high.

tim I wasn't comparing them to each other. I was commenting on Binko's attempt to compare the price of an 1890 Royal to those two.

hojo,
I am glad to say, yes I did and was 1 of 11 others wanting to purchase it. The oly reason I was able to get it was I gave my phone # in the email. It actually sold the daythe ad came out, & SB's will still be there next year...unless he comes down about $18,000.00.

Thanks H&H12 bore, I needed some help here, these guys were really ganging up on me and with the #1 heckler of all time in there with them, "hojo", I was having a tough time standing ground, but TRUTH & KNOWLEDGE always wins out in the end. PS - Don't worry hojo, it ain't for sale...I'm still in love with it, so the price will stay high cause I ain't in the business of selling guns like SB, and I don't have to please anyone with my prices. If it's too high for you, it is just because you don't love it as much as I do!!! binko

If it's too high for you, it is just because you don't love it as much as I do!!! binko Fact is you should not need any help, they are top of the line guns anyway you look at it. granted if I could get a 20's era holland cheaper I would. but these early era guns are still H&H anyway you look at it and I consider them great deals when priced in the 7 to 10k range and still original. the quality is top notch and the fact that these early 90's guns are right at the forefront to the H&H factory and the history involved in this timeframe. Speaking for myself, I am more into the history and development of the hammerless and transition guns like these have a pretty small following. some folks just don't consider a gun that isn't "stocked to the fences" a best gun. Unless your RWTF , then it's just an overpriced english POC
