Of course not,it was built by Niedner.
With the cocking knob forward it will not travel more even under pressure, there is, inside the cocking piece, a separate firing pin that moves forward under inertia. I've not had it apart in ages but do remember trying to fire a primer by taping on the cocking piece with a mallet and not even marking the primer. Someday when I'm board I'll pull it apart and take some pictures.

A .28-30 Zischang-Borchardt, it's like the day it left Zischang's shop with the original tools. The rifle belongs to a friend here in town.
