Agreed with R'Man on the mechanics of it. That however would not seem to be the real issue here, the Question is "WHY". Is the Fox marked ""Sterlingworth Fluid Compressed Steel"" beneath your Dignity. You are i presume totally aware that "Forging" the name Krupp did not change the steel, you still have ""Sterlingworth Fluid Compressed Steel"" whatever that happens to be. I would stronglt suspect this was done to allow Fox to source their bbl steel from different makers without the necessity of changing their marking.
"Tough crowd!!"
Well maybe 30 days is a little severe, perhaps 29 would be sufficient or should it be meted out in Feb 28 would do.
Point is though while I have no problem with added engraving as such or better wood etc, However to alter the markings simply should not be done & in particular to place a name which likely violates copyright laws.
Do you Honestly & Actually believe your gun is no longer a "Sterlingworth" or will that knowledge "Gnaw" upon your inner soul every time you gaze your peepers upon that "Krupp" marking. Why did you not just spend the money invested to buy a higher grade & leave a classic gun, no longer made as is??? There are many of us not so snooty but we would carry a Sterlingworth with pride.
Would you be equally content to buy a Timex & have the name replaced with Rolex??
Just one man's take.
I think people both doing this work & having it done need to take a "Loooong Hard Look" at their Motives.
