Here's the scoop. I have a friend in SA that does lots of hunting in Zimbabwe also. They have been granted 10 PAC "Problem Animal Control" permits for his block in Zimbabwe. These are Big Bull Elephants ranging from 30lbs to as large as 65lbs.

They are being offered at $8,500.00 Per Elephant All Inclusive (Meals, Lodging and Guide fee's). I am personally taking 2 and 4 have already been sold so there are 4 more left. Hunting will take place at night while the bulls are raiding the fields so this isn't for the faint of heart..

Just thought some here might have an interest.

How much is Daves' cut?
Do you get a discount if you bring in more customers or do you get to kill extra elephants??

I am just going to kill Elephants. There is going to be a film crew there filming for a TV show also.

The 1st is $8,500 and each one after that is $7,500 if one hunter wants more than 1 elephant.

I'm not making anything on this I'm just going to hunt.

Didn't know I had to give anyone a cut when notifying people of a good deal.

What about being in Zimbabwe? Isn't that pretty dicey, too?

How stable is that place?

Zim is ok as long as you are traveling with a reputable outfitter. Also in most cases you will be traveling into Zim through South Africa and will never travel through the areas where issues arise.

What I find is sad is when you have to call 30 to 50 pounders big. Within in my lifetime, those big bulls would have been considered too small to shoot. Poaching has destroyed so much that will take years to recover, if it ever does recover. If the money from this saves more game animals from poaching or slaughter I am in your debt.

AK's have killed more game than all the double guns in the world, ten times over. Poachers, rebels, soldiers and all of the natives have been so desperately poor for so long that any chance to harvest a tusk was taken until the market dried up for poached ivory. That and the general meltdown of governments in general and all control in the bush has caused drastic declines on wildlife numbers and quality. Only the areas lucky enough to have some government oversight, protection or have a economic way to make money off game animals have not been devastated.

There are no more wondering 100 pound tuskers in Africa, outside of a park and few of them even there. I suspect the bulls in question are either living in a park and are coming into the fields at night to feed. Perhaps they are non park bulls who just refuse to leave the fields alone and are being harvested to offset the crop losses and to help the farmers and others see a value of not poaching the elephants.

Either case is sad when you have to harvest animals which just a few decades ago would have been protected by their very small stature instead of valued as the biggest you can get these days. Sad day indeed and elephants are just more visible than most game animals. Easy to put a picture of an elephant on a stamp harder to choose a plains animal and get the same response.
