Wow- what great fotos. thanks for sharing. Your GrandDad still with us and shooting at 90- Bless him- what a great tradition and using that "special shotgun" too- special to him I'll bet.

As we both know, we don't get any "dove action" in our State of Grand Holm-but as I have read Nash B. and his words of gunner's wisdom about the dove as being a challenge supreme to the avid shotgunner, I've also read that about rails-especially jump shooting. Never had the chance, but even the late Paul A. Curtis stated he had his worse percentage shooting on rails from a pushboat-and how about the retrive, aren't they hard to mark and then find in those thick reeds? What double were you using for the rails?

In my experience with waterfowl, divers from a layout boat in a choppy November gray day are the greatest test, then jump shooting from a canoe or float boat- very easy to 'rush your shot(s) when Mallards spook, and often, behind you depending on the current and cover- But rails-Wow- I'll bet that is indeed a real thrill, and if you ever made a true double on those, Wow doubled and redoubled. Great fotos--RWTF
