Two comments: I owned a home and lived at least half time in Mulege, Baja California Sur, for over 20 years. I drove the Baja Hiway Hundreds of times. If the Mexican Government wanted to stop the flow of guns (if indeed there is one) it would be pretty easy. There are and have been for many years, Federal checkpoints all along that Hiway. Three permanent,and many times as many as 6-7 more. At each checkpoint you are stopped, your vehicle may be searched, and your papers may be checked.
