Sensible gun control? Sort of like sensible censorship? Or sensible free speech, or sensible search and seizure?
what is sensible gun control. Like AG Holders empathy towards the mexicans and doing his part to stem violence on the mexican side? Hey, I have an idea, how about the mexicans employ some people control and stop their citizens from crossing into the US? Since when do we give up our rights to help someone in another country???? This is the mindset of many today.
I have an even better idea. Why dont we put the same controls ( make that "reasonable controls" ) on cell phones that we have on guns currently. After all cell phones are one of the most prevelant means of criminal facilitation. Why wouldnt everyone be willing to sign a 4473 equivilent form; after all, it would help fight crime. And of course you would have to show ID to buy minutes. And anyone under 18 couldnt buy one. Now, how many would buy into that?
And, please explain to a fellow New Yorker what would be reasonable gun laws; considering that we live in one of th emost heavily regulated states in the country already.
After all, we already have to do a background check, show ID, fill out federal forms, before we can buy a gun.
Name one other item that has the type of controls on it like firearms. hell, when you go get a prescrition filled for controlled substances you dont have to go through this goat rope.
what more restrictions would anyone propose that would be reasonable for us to perform? How about we place these purchasing requiremntts on books also???? I bet that would have the rest of society screaming. But they would be "reasonable controls". Maybe just with porn then? Naah, doubt they would agree to that either.
I ask this as a legitimate question.
