Although the G&H cases are marked "22-3000" they are in actuality for the R-2 chambering. I own several rifles in this caliber and am fortunate to have quite a bit of G&H brass to use in them.

So what are the G&H headstamps, ".22-3000G&H" and the "R-2G&H"?

My problem lies in reconciling my gross habits with my net income.

All the G&H cases I have seen, both .22-3000 and the R-2 are headstamped the same " G&H .22-3000"

When all the supply of cases ran out G&H had Winchester make a special run of amunition for them. They were marked G&H 22-3000.
The 22-3000 aka.22lovell made in1934. Three years later Harvey came out with the 2R Lovell which is an improved 22-3000 aka.22Lovell. Griffin &Howe chambered rifles and bought amunition for them with G&H 22-3000 head stamped case
1st 22lovell 22-3000lovell (same ctg.) 1934
2nd 2R-lovell G&H 22-3000 (same ctg.) 1937

Hi to everyone
I'm a new poster to this forum, and interested in the 22-3000
topic. I have a Ballard in 22Lovell with a Hervey Lovell barrel.
Also have G&H 22-3000 brass and brass formed from 25-20ss. Problem
is it's all R2. Is there a 22Lovell FL sizing die that need adopting out their.

Welcome to the forum, I think many of the die companies still make the Lovell die. I would love to see your rifle, please post a picture.

J Bushnell Smith also had Winchester make R2 cases. They were headstamped JBS 2R (or R2 I would have to go look at one)
If anyone wants a scan of the original May 1934 article by Hervey Lovell I can email it to you. There was another article in December, 1934 by Davis. F.C. Ness rambles on quite a bit about the 22-3000 and its descendants in his "Practical Dope on the 22s" and there are some good drawings for the two early 22-3000 variants as well as the 2R (1937, not 1947) by Risley and Donaldson.
I have a new CH4D 22-3000 Lovell size die, 2nd version that I don't need. Contact me directly if interested.
All the G&H 22-3000s I have are 2R type, but they surely furnished the original form also.
