We looked at a 20ga boxlock Ivory model today, looks like the fit and finish is quite good, the gun nicely balanced. We dont know much about them, any input on experience and or opinions is appreciated.

Had one that I shot quite a bit, liked it a lot. Ended up selling it, but not because it wasn't a good gun. The main problem with Poli (and some of the other higher dollar Italian boxlocks) is that they're in the same price range as an AyA #2 sidelock. That gives them pretty stiff competition.

Thank you for the input. I am familiar with aya and arrieta, have a 557. So if I understand correctly, the quality of the Poli is on par with an aya #2?

Wood will usually be higher quality on a Poli. They both work quite well. So it then comes down to sidelock vs boxlock, for about the same money.
