J.C. Petmecky was an Austin,Texas gunsmith,dealer and inventor from the late 1800's until mid 20th Century. Here is a Picture of his store about 1930 for the annual Big Deer contest.

Geez:
I'd like to see that event staged today in downtown San Fransisco. That would be a reality check for the typical occupants of what once was a great city.

I came up with 4 of these laying around here. 2 each 12 bores and 2 each 10 bores. I can make out writing, but cannot see it clearly, on the head of one of the cases. All seem to be marked on the head of the cleaner portion, Budd's Pat., Sept. 19, 1876, and J.C. Petmecky, Nov. 27, 1883,
My 10 ga. is faintly marked "Bridgeport Gun and Implement" around the rim of the UMC case..I'd be interested in a 12 ga. if you'd part with one.
