Interestingly, with rare exception, the horn was sounded and guns broken and unloaded before the beaters were exposed. On this day, the beaters carried guns for the odd bird exiting to the rear. Again, they were kept in line, so everyone knew where others were.

Also note that the bag was approximately 50% partridges and 50% pheasants. The decision was made to shoot cock pheasants only for the day but we normally shoot hens as well (unlike in Ireland).

no orange is needed on organized hunt like this one. his outfit is impressive as it contains nothing chinese. it's not perfect as the hat should go
