Will see what I can do for you Jeff. I think the Model 71 was the best of all the great Browning designed lever actions- basically a Model 1886 "upgraded". Mine is the deluxe with checkering and QD slings clips-made in 1940 with Lyman rear bolt mounted peep sight- great elk load too, and I wouldn't hesitate to use it for Black bear.

We have a gun show the last Saturday of this month in GR-will check there for you as well. I see plenty of Remington .35 Whelan now-usually about $30/box retail stores-, and my shooting partner and favorite son-in-law showed me a Midway catalog- page 41- they list .348 Win 200 grain Silvertip ammo at $51.99 box of 20.However, they are "Out of Stock". I did find three boxes of Win 200 grain Silvertip in .348 Win- at $63.00/box. Wow. Paul's Gun Shoppe in MI- ph 517-543-3064. PS- found one collector grade box of 250 Silvertip .348 -the famous Grizzly Bear box- 20 rounds- the dealer wanted a firm $125 cash- I passed. RWTF
