I've got a real nice Merkel 16 Ga double and was thinking about replacing the grip cap with one that was engraved with my Golden's head. She's getting older now and is close to being retired and thought it would be a special tribute to the time we've hunted together, mostly using that gun, ranging in locations from Montana to Maine and many places in between. Any recommendations on who could do a nice job? Assume (probably incorrectly) that I can just take the grip cap it currently has off and send that to the engraver so they could make something in exactly the same size. Thoughts on this special tribute to a fine hunting dog?
