Looks aside, is one gun better than the other and why? Also what would you say about the durability of these two guns? They seem to run in the same price range and those prices aren't bad.

You may have confused your nomenclature. Miroku made a Model 500 SxS under both the Miroku and Charles Daly brand names. The 101 was an O/U marketed by Winchester and made by Olin Kodensha in Japan. SKB has/had a number of SxS and O/U under their own name, as well as branded for Ithaca and Weatherby. I think the Ithaca 500 was an SKB-built O/U. They are all good, solid guns.

I favor the Miroku made for Chas Daly (Model 500), a nice S/S 12 bore with slim BT forend, swamped rib, DT, extractors, pistol grip stock and 30" M&F barrels. I paid $375 and gun is 98%. I thought I'd stolen it once I looked closely at the workmanship.
The SKBs are all very good guns as well. Chops

My 20ga Model 500 Ithaca by SKB o/u sst is my go-to gun. Solid. I've had it for about 30-35 years without a speck of trouble.

These are O/Us and I should have said Ithaca SKB 500 as KB points out. Thanks again!
