I was hounding a guy for his Win 42 for about 5 years now. Sad part is I had to take several guns in this deal. You know the crowbars no one wants, surface rust, never cleaned. In the bunch was a Lefever 410 Nitro 26" barrels. I was figuring that if I could parlay all the junkers I could break even on the 42.

The lefever has a little spotty surface rust on the action and barrels I rubbed that out as best as possible, the rib has a few slight dents. I am not sure if the stock was cut. The extractor was gunked up. I broke it down and brought it to my friends machine shop, from there we soaked the action cleaned it all up, removed the extractor and got that back working. Barrels cleaned to mirror which surprised me. Put it all back together and test fired, cute little P shooter.

Last weekend I was invited to do a little rabbit hunting, so I took the 42 and the Lefever. My friends are all beagle owners and crazy over rabbits, when we duck hunt they all carry semi's while I tote a 21. What shocked me was when we are getting ready these 3 polecats all pull out 410 SxS's I was shoked since they always tell me the shoot 410's. Never mentioning SxS's all these years. When in Rome dress like a Romain so I pulled out the Lefever. What a blast I had with that little P shooter, so impressed I brought it to my shop and been staring at the little bugger all week in the corner of my office. So 2 keepers and 6 crowbars.

I would like to send it out to have it blued, gone through, fix the rib, possibly replace the trigger guard since that was covered with a light coating of rust but does give it a few gray hairs. Maybe get another inch or so on the stock or find another stock.

If any of you have dealings with a smith please forward me there info or website.
Regards

Oh oh, just could be a case of .410 phillia setting in. It is just a thought at first then your knees get week your teeth will grind and you have to add a new .410 to the gun safe. I got the bug myself, I picked up a Walter Locke Hammer .410, damascus, fully engraved. Just killer! What a good disorder to have.

I haven't helped with your Lefever, BUT, I know you will love it.
